Welcome to Department of Space Science and Engineering (DSSE), Nation Center University, Taiwan.


國立中央大學太空科學與工程學系（簡稱太空系）為國內唯一學習與研究太空科學與工程的高等教育機構，在太空科學研究與教育之廣度與完整性皆為國內獨一無二。長期持續參與國內外太空科學研究計畫，並與各太空研究機構保持密切的合作關係。今年更榮獲教育部核定「高等教育深耕計畫」特色領域研究中心全額經費補助，在未來五年內（2018-2022）於中大將「太空科學與科技研究中心」實體化。同時積極參與國家「第三期太空科技長程發展計畫」（2019-2028），配合執行各項科學任務，培育下一代太空產業人才。

NCU DSSE is the only higher education institution to conduct research and offer undergraduate and graduate programs in space science and engineering research in Taiwan. We have long participated in space science research projects at home and abroad and maintaine close partnerships with various space research institutions, as well as the global and domestic space industry. Our department is further supported the by the Higher Education SPROUT Project Featured Areas Research Center Program approved by the Taiwan Ministry of Education in 2019, establishing the Center for Astronautical Physics and Engineering (CAPE) - Taiwan’s first university space center with interdisciplinary research and development projects combining the resources of DSSE with those of NCU’s telecommunications, computer and information engineering, and biomedical science and engineering departments. At the same time, we actively participate in the third phase of the “National Space Technology Long-Term Development Program” (2019-2028) in Taiwan, cooperating with the Taiwan Space Agency to execute various scientific missions and cultivate the next generation of human resources in the space industry.

本系鼓勵學生參加國際會議和發表期刊論文，給學生自己的研究成果增加能見度；派遣學生參加國外大學的短期立方衛星訓練，增加團隊合作與國際競爭的能力；參與國家重要大型衛星任務，可與專業人士互動，建立自信心與增加就業機會。除了教學和研究外，本系教師也會對外進行科普演講與撰寫文章、舉辦暑期高中營隊、參加航太展與在太空相關會議展示等活動，拓展社會影響力。
Our department encourages students to attend international conferences and publish papers to showcasing their own research. We routinely dispatch students to enroll in short-term CubeSat training courses in universities overseas to improve their teamwork skills and be internationally competitive. We also provide students with opportunities to participate in national large satellite missions, as well as joint projects with Taiwan's growing space industry and learn from experienced professionals, building self-confidence and make them stand out in the competitive job market. In addition to teaching and conducting research, professors in our department also write popular science articles and deliver lectures on latest topics related to space science and technology, hold summer high school programs, attend aerospace exhibitions and space-related conference to highlight our work and expertise.
